Generosity Sunday: Smita’s Story

Peachtree's generosity is changing the lives of children living in the Sonagachi, India – the largest red-light district in Asia. Honoring the life of Smita Singh (1968-2020), this gospel driven story is a testament of her resoluteness and faithfulness to protecting the children in the area and guiding them to witness and know the love of Christ.

Malawi Sponsorships: Charity's Story

Meet Charity. She and her seven siblings were raised by her grandmother in Malawi, living in a small house with 15 other people. Charity has always loved school but her grandmother couldn’t afford for her to have a higher education. Thanks to the generosity of our congregation, she became a sponsored student and is now studying clinical medicine at university.

Zacchaeus Fellows: Diane, Elijah, and Lillian’s Story

The ATL Zacchaeus Fellows Program, which is part of Peachtree Church, is a Christ-centered nine-month leadership development program for recent college graduates. A few years ago, faith-driven entrepreneur and Peachtree member Diane was called to provide internships for ATL Zacchaeus Fellows at her company, scoutSMART. By employing Lillian and Elijah, she helped them grow professionally and spiritually while they provided unique expertise to her company.

Rutledge 2024

Over 150 high school students and counselors celebrated another unforgettable year at Camp Rutledge. They spent their days immersed in worship, prayer, small groups, and quiet time and had meaningful one-on-one moments with leaders and prayer partners. And, they also had a blast participating in fun activities, including Western Night, Game Night, Movie Night, and Carnival Night.

The Practice of Listening and Discernment: Emily and Tim’s Story

After a four year struggle with infertility, Emily and Tim prayed together, seeking to find clarity from God on the next steps for their family plans. Check out this video to learn about how they heard from God and experienced his spirit in their lives.

Camp Ducktown 2024

In June, our middle schoolers went to Camp Ducktown in Copperhill, Tennessee. At Ducktown, the students dove deeper into what it looks like to walk in faith with Jesus through teachings, small group Bible studies, and worship. They also went whitewater rafting, horseback riding, and played paintball!

Carter Zacchaeus Fellows Story

With a vulnerable curiosity and a leap of faith, Carter witnessed Christ through Peachtree. Initially thinking that true Christianity was limited to church or nonprofit work, our ATL Zacchaeus Fellows program helped this young follower of Jesus discover a connection between Christian discipleship and vocation, shaping his perspective on faith, professionalism, and service.

VBS 2024

During VBS 2024, Peachtree’s rising Pre-K to 5th graders dove into Breaker Rock Beach,
discovering God’s solid rock truth in a world of shifting sands. Over the week, the children sang, created, played, and learned together.

The Practice of Solitude and Silence: Visual Liturgy

Solitude is the spiritual practice of emptying our calendars and negating our to-do lists to spend time alone with God. Silence is the discipline we engage to complete our solitude. We invite you to create space for these practices to welcome God into your life.

Confirmation 2023

Peachtree's Confirmation journey provides students with a transformative experience where they build a foundation of faith and friendship, while learning together and growing closer to Christ. A pivotal point in their journey, the retreat draws our students away from their everyday lives to see all that they've learned manifest itself through community. From the peaceful moments in nature, to the exhilarating energy of worship, they make lasting memories and, more importantly, cultivate relationships with both God and their fellow confirmands.

The Practice of Secrecy and Confession: Haley’s Story

Haley grew up attending Peachtree. When she returned to the church post college graduation, she was looking for a new way to get involved and became a Stephen Minister. Over the past six years, she’s been a listening ear to Care Receivers, creating a safe space for those who are struggling.
While being vulnerable often doesn’t come naturally, sharing your struggles with others can remind you that you’re not alone.

On the weekend of the opening of our newly renovated Fellowship Hall, we joined together to walk through our community, praying over our campus and ministries. Kidz2Leaders, one of the beneficiaries of the Renewing the Promise campaign, aims to offer stability, opportunities, and a Christian support system to children of incarcerated parents in Atlanta. Bringing Light to Those in the Dark

See how God has worked through Peachtree Church to bring solar-power to Sokola, a mountain village in northern Malawi. After we helped build a girls’ dorm, our members gave to provide a Tesvolt-powered mini-grid that will last for decades, providing lights and power to villagers who have never enjoyed the blessing of electricity.

Afghan Christians First Christmas in the USA

Blessed by the grace of God, an extended family of 16 Christian Afghan refugees celebrate their first Christmas in America. Following Afghanistan’s fall to Taliban rule, the observance of the Christian faith quickly became a potentially deadly practice for those in Afghanistan. Believers were forced to conceal their faith and worship in secrecy to avoid persecution. In the midst of such terror, hear how the Light of Christ guided this faithful family through life-threatening chaos, away from harm, and ultimately to Oklahoma City where they can now safely embrace a life following Jesus Christ.

Rutledge 2023

Along with the thrill and excitement that comes with the games and activities at summer camp, Rutledge offers our high school students a week long opportunity to draw closer to Christ with their peers. Every summer for the past 76 years, students at Peachtree attend a week of spiritual retreat at Camp Rutledge. With no smart phones, iPads, or television, the distractions and noise of the world give way to a focus on community and hearing the voice of God.

N.T. Wright Speaks at Peachtree

N. T. Wright grew up in the north-east of England and studied Classics and Theology at Oxford, where he was ordained in 1975 and took his doctorate (on St Paul) in 1981, having served as a college chaplain, and taught New Testament, in both Oxford and Cambridge. He was the Canon Theologian of Westminster Abbey and served as the Bishop of Durham from 2003–2010.

Tom Wright has authored more than 70 books, including the bestsellers Simply Christian, Surprised by Hope, and Simply Jesus, as well as the popular ‘Everyone’ series of commentaries and the academic series ‘Christian Origins and the Question of God’. He is now serving as the Chair of New Testament and Early Christianity at the School of Divinity at the University of St. Andrews.

VBS Recap 2023

This year at Vacation Bible School our Children's Ministry showed us all how following Jesus Christ changes the game. Themed on a game show, children were taught how to navigate through the Twists and Turns of life by trusting in the constant and unwavering love of Jesus. Such a worshipful week of exciting experiences with their group leaders and friends encourages our children to have both a personal and communal relationship with Christ that we pray will last a lifetime.

Ducktown 2023

Through a week of fun, prayer and worship, Camp Ducktown gives our Middle School students the opportunity to develop close friendships, explore their faith, and study God’s word together. Guided by staff and volunteers, our youth discovered what it means to be a Christian and to seek out God’s Kingdom through four words: God, Jesus, Man, and Response.
