God is Faithful
DAILY DWELL
“Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart.…”
Psalm 86:11
Psalm 86
Teach me your way, Lord,
that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.
I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify your name forever.
For great is your love toward me;
you have delivered me from the depths,
from the realm of the dead.
(vv. 11–13)
Reflection Questions
- In this Psalm, David portrays himself as “poor and needy” (v. 1). In what areas of your life do you recognize your need for God?
- In what ways has God shown gentleness and kindness as he guides you to understand his ways instead of your own? How has he been faithful to your needs?
- Even David encountered distractions in his spiritual life. What is causing you to have what David may call a divided heart before God? How can you set those things aside to focus on God?
- God is a redeeming God. Can you recall a time when God delivered you from a difficult situation or redeemed something in your life? Was God reliable throughout that situation? How so?
