Elder Nominations

Elder Nominations

Deadline: Sunday, February 23 | Midnight

The following are intended to serve merely as guidelines to the nominating committee in their work in seeking officers of the church:

Ordered List with Custom Marker Spacing
  1. A close relative or member of the Nominating Committee may not be nominated.
  2. No elder shall be elected for a term of more than three years, nor shall an elder serve for consecutive terms, either full or partial, aggregating more than six years. An elder having served a total of six years shall be ineligible for re-election to the same board for a period of at least one year.
  3. Only those who have demonstrated a history of service in the church and/or service in the community will be considered.
  4. No member will be considered who has not been a member of this church approximately two years.
  5. No person will be nominated who does not demonstrate a practice of giving to the church.
  6. Faithfulness in attendance at services of the church will be considered for nomination.
  7. No two persons from the same family living in the same household should serve simultaneously as an officer. Thus, if a member of a family is already serving, another person from that family would not be nominated.
  8. Recognizing the need to involve new persons in leadership positions, we believe that one half of those who would be nominated should be persons who have previously served and one half should be new.
  9. Please do not contact the person whose name you are suggesting. The nominating committee will carefully consider all names submitted and, at the appropriate time, have conversations with those they wish to propose to the congregation.
